WEATHER IN ICELAND

The weather in Iceland can be a real beast although the climate in Iceland is relatively mild despite its northerly location. The Gulf stream sends us warm currents all year around so along the coast we normally do not have severe low temperatures.

The most challenging thing about the weather is the fact that it can change from very good to very bad quite quickly. So we suggest you always dress in layers. Then you are prepared for everything.

There are excellent weather websites that can help a lot when preparing your trip in Iceland. There is the Icelandic one www.vedur.is/en and then it’s the Norwegian one www.yr.no. The Norwegian has proven to be more accurate.
