We’ll spend the entire day hiking through a host of stunning landscapes that are totally unique in their own right – from the pristine sandy beaches that populate the island’s shores to the rugged cliff faces that gaze across the vast Atlantic Ocean, you name it and we’ll see it. We’ll finish atop a 500-meter-tall cliff, that offers panoramic views of the entire peninsula and fjord system, allowing you to see this wonderous area in all its regal glory. The day finishes in our restored farmhouse where we’ll eat a traditional Icelandic dinner and look out for the elusive Arctic Foxes that live in the garden.
We’ll meet up at our office in Aðalstræti 17 (downtown main street) – to go through the order of the day and answer any questions that you might have and then head down to the charming Ísafjörður Harbor to catch our traditional Icelandic vessel.
The ferry ride takes about an hour, taking us past some spectacular cliff-lined shores and stunningly beautiful fjords. If we’re lucky, we might see some marine life, because whales, dolphins, and seabirds all reside in the area. We’ll be dropped at the Adalir Valley in Veiðileysufjörður fjord – a gorgeous area that is nestled between imperious cliffs.
We’ll instantly begin to make our way to its summit, passing trickling streams and arctic tundra as we climb to an elevation of 500 meters, where we’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking vista over the entire Westfjord System. We’ll stop there to enjoy some Icelandic delicacies to one of the best views that you’ll find anywhere.
We’ll hike back to our beautifully restored in the Kvíadalur Valley – it is perched on a verdant hillside that offers a beautiful contrast to the sparkling blue fjord. You’ll spend the rest of the day exploring the area by yourself, while we prepare the group a traditional Icelandic dinner. Among the highlights of the area are several cascading waterfalls and the family of curious Arctic Foxes that live in our garden. We’ll enjoy a well-deserved dinner together and then catch the ferry back to Ísafjörður – after a tiring day that will provide memories that last a lifetime.
