Glacier Walk on Solheimajokull
Tuesday, November 20, 2012
We went on a south coast and Solheimajokull glacier walk today the weather was a bit windy, about 15 meters up on the glacier.
Solheimajokull and glacier walk today with people from England and Trinidad and Tobago it´s rear that we have people from the Caribbean here in Iceland. They loved the glacier and did not want leave the glacier. We walked on the glacier for 2 hours and all the way to the top of the ice outlet, it was quiet difficult because of hard ice and wind. There where some other people on the glacier but not to many, because of the wind. After the glacier we went to see Reynishverfi and Dyrhóley. From there we visited Skógarfoss, Eyjafjallajokull visitor center and then we went to see Seljalandsfoss waterfall.
It could not have been a better day out there, the wind picked up during the day and on the way back home over Hellisheiði it was snow blizzard. Came back to Reykjavík at 6:30 pm.
